2021.10.02 | - Brainstorm about the themes we will focus on. - Set the settings and themes of the game: Writing a letter from a pet’s perspective or writing letters to different people with different emotions. The final topic we choose is allowing the player to whom they wish to write the letter to, expressing their feelings. - Decide that we will have three emotions: Joy, Resentment and Grief. | How to start the letter? How to make each selection to be meaningful for the players themselves, even with limited choices? We do not want to set everything in stone, but reasons for having emotions are various. So, it needs consideration of setting up the choices. |

| We had some troubles when we were keeping the "emotion idea" throughout the game. We found that it might be difficult when players only have emotions to choose from. The reason for people to bring themselves into a game might be that they were convinced by the game settings instead of only taking "emotions being written down." However, we had ran out of our time, so we decided to ask for extension and work few days more on this project because we decided to build a new game. |
2021.10.06-07 | We decided to change another game. We finally made decisions that our game should be formed by plots. | As the assignment required, we were supposed to have our game being played within 5 minutes. We start to think about how to make plots short, how to make each choice meaningful. |
2021.10.07 | We did some research and we came up with our second idea-- make a new game, "The Archive of Life." | How many branches do we need to have? How many decisions players need to have? With those questions we started our game-making and made a lot of progress on twine. |
2021.10.8 | Finish building the storyline on twine. Adding the marking system and make illustrations. Moving the story to twine and add interactive techniques. | Which style of painting should we use in the game? How to build the story in twine with techniques? |
